With heart in Portugal and at home in Switzerland. Our mission: to bring the best boutique wines from small Portuguese families directly to you.
We are Denise & José
José is Portuguese, born and raised in the Douro Valley. Denise is Swiss, but with a great deal of Portugal in her heart.
We want to bring you the same products that we have at home ourselves, namely the best of the Portuguese wineries.
Quintas de Portugal perfectly embodies our motto "small and exquisite"; we know all the families personally and import directly. There are no large quantities or well-known brands, but instead, a great deal of quality and even more passion for what we do.
Origin and quality
The Douro Valley in northern Portugal is one of the oldest and most impressive wine-growing regions in the world. Along the Douro River, which winds its way through steep terraces and spectacular landscapes, some of Portugal's finest wines are produced – from the famous Port to characterful red and white wines. The unique microclimate, the schist soils, and traditional winemaking methods give Douro wines their distinctive depth, elegance, and power.

We keep our quality standards relatively simple. If we wouldn't want it in our own basement, we won't try to sell it to you either.
We spend a lot of time getting to know and selecting the individual products of our families so that we can ultimately stand behind every single bottle.
Our story
The inspiration for Quintas de Portugal lies among the hills of Lamego in the Douro Valley.
At the Quinta de Sequeiros winery, where José grew up.
José's grandparents had leased and cultivated this vineyard. The grapes were intended for resale but also for a small amount of their own wine production.
The vineyards were the playground, the large wine barrels the hiding place, and harvest time the big family celebration.
For us, Portuguese wine is not just a good product we represent. It's home, memories, family...
We want to bring you the same products that we have at home ourselves.
