Tawny Port 40 years

Vieira de Sousa 40 Year Old Tawny is made from grapes grown in vineyards along the Douro River. Fermentation takes place after foot-treading the grapes in traditional stone basins called lagares. After fortification with grape brandy, the wine matures for many years in barrels and old oak casks.

The nose already reveals that this wine is a product of another era, yet it is very lively and delicate. A fabulous concentration of coffee and liqueur notes is reflected on the palate with a long, spirited finish.
